Chengdu Grand Prix R7: Change on top, Harika overtakes Koneru

The Indian derby between the overnight leader Koneru Humpy and one of the nearest followers Harika Dronavalli marked the 7th round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in Chengdu, China.

In the longest and only decisive game of the day Harika won with the white pieces and moved to the top of the standings with 5 points. Koneru dropped to shared second.

The remaining five games were drawn.

In a better position Antoaneta Stefanova inadvertedly allowed the three-fold repetition while trying to reach the time control.

Chengdu Grand Prix R6: Success for former world champions
R6

Former world champions Antoaneta Stefanova and Mariya Muzychuk were victorious in round six of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in Chengdu, China.

Stefanova defeated Lela Javakishvili and is now sharing the second place with Harika and Ju Wenjun.

In the longest game of the day Mariya Muzychuk broke the resistance of Pia Cramling and is back to 50% score.

The tournament leader Humpy Koneru split the point with close follower Ju Wenjun. The remaining games were also drawn.

Chengdu Grand Prix R5: Ju Wenjun and Girya win
Ju Wenjun

Local star Ju Wenjun defeated Anna Muzychuk in round five of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in Chengdu, China. After the second consecutive win Wenjun caught up with Harika Dronavalli on the shared second place.

Olga Girya scored her first victory to get back to 50% score.

The tournament leader Humpy Koneru was held to a draw by Lela Javakishvili. The remaining games were also drawn.

Chengdu FIDE Grand Prix: Koneru on a winning streak

Humpy Koneru scored her third consecutive victory to emerge clear leader after four rounds of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in Chengdu, China.

Koneru defeated Tan Zhongyi by utilising the power of two bishops.

In the longest game of the day Ju Wenjun converted the extra material against Pia Cramling. The remaining four games were drawn.

Chengdu FIDE Grand Prix: Koneru joins Harika on top

Humpy Koneru defeated Olga Girya with black pieces in the third round of FIDE Grand Prix in Chengdu to join her compatriot Harika Dronavalli on the top of the crosstable.

Bela Khotenashvili won against Mariya Muzychuk after the Ukrainian mishandled the opening, while Antoaneta Stefanova outplayed Zhao Xue in the sharp middlegame.

Pia Cramling narrowly escaped a loss against Lela Javakishvili and the remaining two games were also drawn.
