Chengdu Grand Prix R11: Indians share first place, Harika takes trophy |
In the final round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix in Chengdu, China, Koneru Humpy defeated Antoaneta Stefanova to catch up with her compatriot Harika Dronavalli on the shared first place with 7/11 points each.
Harika, however, was awarded with the winner's trophy due to better tie-break - a win in the head-to-head match.
Ju Wenjun was awarded the trophy for third place, after edging Stefanova and Anna Muzychuk on tie-break.
Of the other decisive results Zhao Xue won against Pia Cramling, while Anna Muzychuk scored against Bela Khotenashvili.

The ceremonial first move for the last round was made by Ms. Cheng Qiaoru, Executive Vice-President of Chengdu City Opera Institute, national level actor, twice Chinese Drama Plum Blossom award winner.
The closing ceremony of the "Chess City Cup 2016" Women's FIDE Grand Prix was held from 18h at the International Conference Hall of Wangjiang Hotel.
The ceremony was hosted by Zhou Xiaosong, Deputy Inspector of Chengdu Sports Bureau, and Tian Hongwei, Director of Chess Department of Board and Card Games Administrative Center of General Administration of Sport of China, Deputy General Secretary of Chinese Chess Association.
The trophies were presented by Gao Wei, Deputy Director of Chengdu Sports Bureau, Lin Xu, Deputy Mayor of Jinjiang District, and Zeng Xiaolan, Assistant of General Manager of Sichuan Lines, Secretary of Commerce Commission.
